Making Muffins

We made some chocolate muffins using Ezara's recipe - with no dairy or eggs.
Most of us liked the muffins, and some of us didn't.
Whaea Tracey really liked our muffins!

Hauora Week - Self Esteem

Week 6 was all about Hauora and Self Esteem.

Ms Tataurangi took photos of us all and we made our own flipchart on our Activboard.

Then we shared lots of positive statements and words to describe each other.

Ms Tataurangi printed them out and glued them to our Star page.

We shared them with our buddy class - wonderful Room 7 in the afternoon.

'H' is for Humpty Dumpty

On Tuesday we learned the Humpty Dumpty rhyme, because it is 'Hh' week.
We coloured in Humpty Dumpty and now they are hanging in our classroom for us to look at and read.
We are getting clever at staying in the lines when we are colouring in.
We also found this Humpty Dumpty story on YouTube.

Room 8's Rockets

We made rockets that we can blow up in the sky.
They can go high, but not as high as the rockets that go into space.
Ms Tataurangi is proud of all the children in our class who can count backwards from 10 now!

Our New Playground

Last week Steve Price came to help us celebrate the opening of our new 'Platinum Play' playground.
We love our new playground and we play on it every day.

Room 8's Gingerbread Boys and Girls

Today we made gingerbread boys and girls.
We used raisins for eyes, half of a nutrigrain for the mouth and cocopops for the buttons.
We got to gobble up our gingerbread people after they were baked in the oven.
Our gingerbread boys and girls didn't try to run away!
They were yummy.

Snow's Visit To Room 8

Snow is Ms Tataurangi's pet guinea pig.
Today he came for a visit and we all got to hold him.
He likes to eat caulifower, carrots and grass.
We let him sit on the towel in the middle of our circle and watched him eat.
Kyle loved him and asked his Mum to get him one after school.

The Gingerbread Man

This week we are looking at things that start with the letter 'Gg'.
Girls, giraffes, giggling geckoes and gingerbread man are some of the words we now know.
Here's a story of The Gingerbread Man that we listen to in class.
We are making gingerbread men and will put the photos up soon.

Dolphin Bubbles

This week is 'Dd' week and we have been learning about dolphins!.
We love this clip from YouTube.

We are learning about new animals that we have not seen before.

Our Favourite Dancing Otter

During "Oo" Week, we looked at opera and otters on YouTube.
Here's our favourite otter video.
We have a great understanding of what an otter is now!
We aren't too sure about opera yet.

Shoo! By Room 8

Today we made a video of our Shared Book - Shoo! by Joy Cowley.
We made animal masks and one of us dressed up as the farmer.
This is our first video - We are proud of our efforts.
Thank you to our wonderful Room 7 helper, who helped us to read the story.

Inchworms - Our favourite video
