These three awesome Superstars of Room 8 have attended every day since they started school!

What an amazing achievement!

Superstars - Lau, Mark and Adirua, I am very proud of you, as are your whanau!

Next term I'd like to see more tamariki from Room 8 being rewarded for 100% attendance.

End of Term 2

Wow it's the end of Term 2 already.
We have been really busy learning and having fun at school.
Remember to visit some of our favourite websites in the holidays to continue our learning.
School finishes tomorrow with a whole school Assembly at 2.15pm in the Hall.
We are getting excited because we are going to be peforming our Butterfly Song.
Happy and safe holidays to all our whanau.

Room 8's Picnic

Today we are having a picnic in the Malu at lunchtime.
Here's a video of the story we have adapted from "The Picnic" by Margaret Schroder.

On Monday we are going to have a picnic,
On Tuesday we are making a book to work out where Ms Tataurangi was last Friday,
On Wednesday we are going to make pikelets,
On Thursday we are going to make patterns with the maths equipment and take photos of our patterns, and
On Friday we are going to get ready for our holidays!
What a jam packed week of learning we have in store.

Hi everyone,
I just want to say a huge thank you to all the whanau who came to discuss their children's learning, progress and achievement tonight.
It was so lovely to meet you all, especially some of the Mums and Dads that I don't get to see very often.
Keep up all the great work you are doing with your tamariki, especially with their alphabet and their number knowledge.

Perfect Pepperoni Pizza Fun

Today, in our table groups, we made perfect pepperoni pizzas.

We spread tomato sauce on the base, then we placed pepperoni circles on and lastly we sprinkled some cheese on top. Ms Tataurangi carefully put them in the oven to bake for 10 minutes. We cut our pizza into 8 pieces and we each ate a slice.

YUM!

We made our own pizza books to read and share with our whanau. We are very clever Superstars.

Brilliant Butterflies

This week is 'Bb' week in Room 8.
We have been making symmetrical butterflies.

Here we are blowing bubbles in our cup of milk.
Lots of fun was had, as you can see.

Today we had fun blowing milky bubbles because it is one of our 'Bb' week activities.

We were really excited because our milky bubbles rose above the rim of the cup.

We made Rainbow Fish last week. We coloured in our fish, then we dyed it and glued on some glitter for the shimmering scale. Here are some photos of us making our Rainbow Fish.

Learning about Symmetry

This week we are learning about Symmetry.
Symmetry is when one shape becomes exactly like another if you flip, slide or turn it. The simplest form of symmetry is reflection or 'mirror' symmetry like this egg shows. We found this cool symmetry activity. Thank you Miss Baker from bakersbeautbunch for this description and activity.

150 visitors celebration

This afternoon we celebrated our 150 visitors by popping party poppers, eating biscuits and watching a movie. We were so excited. Can you tell?

Today it was very wet at lunchtime, so we had to stay in our classroom.
Luckily, some of our wonderful Room 7 buddies came through to look after us.
