Farewell Katalau

Last week Katalau, his brothers and sisters left to go to a new school.

We wish him all the best at his new school. We will miss your smiley face Katalau.

Week 7 Assembly Stars

On Monday, Laani, Xaylem and Lilly were named our Super Assembly Stars for Week 7.

Laani and Lilly have just joined Room 8 and we welcome them to our class.

Xaylem is able to write his name on his own and Ms Tataurangi is very proud of him.

Making Butter

Today we made butter to go with our yummy scones.

Making Scones...

Today in Room 8 we made scones.
They were yummy!


Making Scones on PhotoPeach

Here's the recipe for our yummy scones:
4 cups of self raising flour
1 300ml bottle of cream
1 can of Sprite
1 teaspoon of salt

Turn the oven on to 220C.
Mix all the ingredients together in a big bowl and make into one big shape on the oven tray.
Use a spatula to 'cut' the scone shapes.
Bake in the oven for 20 minutes.
Allow to cool before eating. 
Best eaten with homemade butter and jam.

Working in Room 7

Last week we spent the afternoon in Room 7, while they had their visit from the Dental Therapists in our classroom.
We had fun sitting at the big desks to do our work.

Last Friday was the last day in Room 8 for these tamariki.

Chevelle, Schaniyah and Isaac are now in Room 10

with Mrs Nathan.

Olivia, Ashley, Adirua, Nyree-Ann, Paimarie, Sardonyx and Jordan are now in Room 12

with Ms Seaton.

Sandcastle Competition Winners

The School Councillors had a sand castle building competition

as part of their Bordem Busters at lunchtimes.

Last week for Oral Health and Hygiene Week we watched a video called "Dr Rabbit goes to School".

Fun Times Tomorrow

Hi everyone,
We are in for a fun day tomorrow.
First off, we are starting our day by being ALL dressed in BLACK to show our support for our great ALL BLACKS. We will be taking a whole school photo @10.15am.
We have got our whole school brushing experience being lead by our Dental Therapists @ 10.30am,
then at 12.00pm we are welcoming Ms Tataurangi's cousin - Kiri Danielle who is the driving force behind the Clean Up For The Cup campaign.
What a JAM PACKED day we are going to have tomorrow.

'Y' Week

This week is 'Y' week in Room 8.
Today we watched a video of a very clever man using a yo-yo.
Ms Tataurangi is in awe because every time she uses a yo-yo she gets all tangled up.




Sardonyx: The yo-yo man was really good.

Ashley said: He was amazing.

Jordan said: The man is good at the yo-yo tricks.

Bailee said: Thanks you for sharing the yo-yo tricks.

Adirua said: The yo-yo was fast as.

Jump Rope For Heart Fun

Today we did Jump Rope For Heart. We did lots of skipping until it rained and we had to stop.

This is what we think about JRFH:

Bailee: I know how to skip with two legs.

Mark: I liked jumping on two legs.

Sisilina: I liked the skipping rope.

Fetoa: I can skip with two legs.

Schaniyah: I liked skipping with Olivia.

Rosalia: I can jump over the rope.

Adirua: I like to skip fast.

Isaac: I jumped over the rope and I was skipping.

Jordan: I liked to skip over the rope.

Carol: I skipped with my friends.

Paimarie: I like skipping.

Nyree-Ann: I liked skipping with Ashley.

Ashley: I liked drawing with Nyree-Ann.

Olivia: I liked skipping with Amanda.

Sardonyx: I liked skipping with my sister, Serenity.

Kipri: I was learning how to skip today.

Angeline: I liked skipping with all of my friends.

Ms Tataurangi: I really enjoyed seeing all the Superstars of Room 8 having a go at skipping today. I am really proud of you all. xx
